The Lithuanian national team discovered potential rivals at the Tokyo Olympics.
If the Lithuanians win the Olympic qualifying tournament in Kaunas, ours in Tokyo will compete in Group C and face Argentina, Spain and host Japan.
According to the new format of the Olympic Games, the 12 national teams were divided into 3 groups, and the teams that occupied the first two places in their subgroups and the two best teams that finished in third place will be included in the playoffs.
The Tokyo Olympics basketball tournament will run from July 25 to August 7.

Group A:

- France
- JAV
- Victorian qualifier winner
B Group:
- Australia
- Split Qualifier Tournament Winner
- Belgrade qualifying tournament winner
- Nigeria
Group C:
- Argentina
- Japan
- Spain
- Kaunas Selection Tournament Winner
The Olympic qualifying tournament in Kaunas will be held from June 29 to July 4. In Lithuania, teams from Lithuania, South Korea, Venezuela, Poland, Slovenia and Angola will compete for the only ticket to the Games.
Serbia, Dominican Republic, New Zealand, Italy, Puerto Rico and Senegal will compete in the Belgrade national team tournament.
Croatia, Brazil, Tunisia, Mexico, Russia and Germany will meet in Split, Croatia.
Canada, Greece, China, the Czech Republic, Turkey and Uruguay will play in Victoria (Canada).
