According to sources, the ban will come into effect from 1 pm Lithuanian time.

Information about the insurance was confirmed to the Reuters news agency by three diplomats. According to them, until 3 pm no objections are expected within the established deadline.

Belarusian airlines will be prohibited from crossing EU airspace and landing at EU airports.

Belarusian state airline Belavia has already suspended flights to 21 countries. Among them, the Baltic States, the United Kingdom, France, Germany, Poland.

The EU also recommends that EU airlines avoid Belarusian airspace.

On May 23, Belarusian dispatchers falsely informed the crew of a Ryanair plane flying from Athens to Vilnius that there was an explosive on the passenger liner. Roman Protasevičius, a freelance Belarusian journalist, and his girlfriend Sofia Sapega were arrested while the plane was landing in Minsk.

In response to the forced landing of the aircraft, the Community agreed to extend the sanctions to Belarus, not only to individual natural or legal persons, but also to individual sectors.

Next week, the EU intends to consider new sanctions against Belarus, which could target both ministers and representatives of the Belarusian Air Force leaders. Sanctions can also be imposed on an organization, as quoted by the BNS news agency, Bloomberg.
