Meeting on Monday, the Euroleague leaders decided to grant the ALBA Berlin team a two-year license and introduce new provisions for the organization of the playoffs and the four finalists.

ALBA, which has a valid license until 2023, plays in the Euroleague for the second consecutive season. This season, the team has achieved 10 victories and is 15th in 28 games.

A long time ago, Bayern Munich received a long-term license, and then Villerban’s ASVEL was evaluated at the same time.

The members of the Euroleague Board also discussed the organization of the playoffs and the four finalists.

The league will have to anticipate a reserve area where the playoffs could take place if they cannot take place in the city due to restrictions.

If new restrictions are found after the first transfer of the match, the team that was the first to play the match loses.

There may be a maximum postponement of one match per playing pair.

If the team does not accumulate eight players, the loss will be credited. If both teams do not have 8 basketball players capable of playing, they will both record losses.

In this case, the team with the best playoff win rate will advance to the next round. If the series ends after the teams have won evenly, the club with the highest place in the regular season will advance to the next stage.

If one of the last four participants is unable to play due to travel restrictions or a lack of players, they will be replaced by the team that ranked highest in the regular season but did not reach the last four.

A maximum of two teams can be substituted in the four finalists.

The teams will be able to change until the day of the semifinals, May 28. If on the day of the semi-finals it turns out that one of the teams cannot compete, its competitor will immediately reach the final.

If both teams in a semi-final were unable to play, then the winner of the other semi-final would become champion.

If one of the final teams is affected due to restrictions or lack of players, then the match will move to another location or at a later date.

The four finalists would be relocated or postponed only if more than two teams were unable to play, or legislation in the area of the four finalists would prevent the match from taking place.
