The funeral will take place on Friday, the day before the funeral to say goodbye to the deceased will be possible in the Great Hall of the theater, and on Thursday there will be a mass in the Church of the Bernardos in Vilnius.
V. Daunor died on Monday at the age of 84.
He was born in 1937 in Žagarė, graduated from the Lithuanian Conservatory in 1962, taught at the Lithuanian Academy of Music for several decades, was director of the Department of Singing and teacher.

The soloist worked for many years at the Lithuanian Opera and Ballet Theater, the Lithuanian Philharmonic, the Kaunas Musical Theater, and in 1966-1968 he did an internship at the La Scala Theater in Milan.
V. Daunor has toured Europe, the United States, Canada, and Egypt.
In 1988, he was a member of the initiative group of the Lithuanian Restructuring Movement.
V. Daunor lived in the United States from 1994 to 2017, taught singing privately, in 1996-2005 he was a soloist at the Metropolitan Opera Theater in New York, and toured with this theater in Japan.
