When Bishop Kęstutis Kėvalas of Telšiai was appointed Metropolitan Archbishop of Kaunas by Pope Francis’ decree in February, the Diocese of Telšiai was left without a permanent pastor, but less than four months later, a new Bishop of Telšiai was approved.
K. Kėvalas, who led the Diocese of Telšiai for two and a half years, was replaced by A. Jurevičius.

In February of this year, Pope Francis, professor at the Vytautas Magnus University Catholic Faculty of Theology (Vytautas Magnus University), Bishop Dr. K. Kėvalas was appointed Metropolitan Archbishop of Kaunas, for which reason the Diocese of Telšiai remained without a permanent pastor.

A.Jurevičius studied at Vilnius J.Tallat-Kelpša Higher School of Music.
1986-1991 conducted the choir and worked as an organist on Vievis St. in St. Anne’s Church. For a year he worked as a religion teacher at the Vilnius school.
Since 1991 he studied at the Kaunas Priest Seminary and at the Vytautas Magnus University, Faculty of Catholic Theology.
While studying at the priests seminary, he performed the service of an organist, and when Pope John Paul II visited Kaunas, on September 6, 1993, he played the organ during mass at Kaunas Santaka.
1996 December 26 ordained priest.
He studied practical theology in Frankfurt am Main (Germany), where he obtained a doctorate in practical theology.
He worked at the Lithuanian Academy of Sciences as an expert in project science.
2008 Pope Benedict XVI awarded the title of His Holiness the Chaplain (Monsignor) to Priest A. Jurevičius.
