“The goal of all of us is to vaccinate teachers as soon as possible, and I hope that in February, if nothing changes, we will still vaccinate kindergarten and primary school teachers,” said J. Šiugždinienė at a meeting with the social democratic faction of the Seimas el Thursday.
J. Šiugždinienė also did not hide that it is expected that with the decrease in the number of COVID-19 cases and the return of graduates to educational institutions, the coronavirus will not spread in schools.
“Two factors are important: this is the number of cases, if it drops to more than 200 cases (ELTA per day), we can make some decisions and try to go back to school in a mixed way, the second moment is the vaccine. This is more hard to say here, I can’t really guarantee that we will vaccinate them very soon, because we all know what the situation is and it is constantly changing, “said J. Šiugždinienė.
“But teachers really are a priority group and we will do everything we can to make vaccines available, and we will try to vaccinate teachers,” he added.
