A. Širinskienė, who registered the proposal, says that “the circumstances of the adoption of the Seimas resolution may be significant when the Constitutional Court presents a finding on violations of the Seimas Electoral Law during 2020 elections.”
In the outgoing Seimas, there is the possibility of implementing the initiative of a group of parliamentarians to address the Constitutional Court (CC) for possible violations of the Seimas Elections Law.
On Thursday, 62 members of the Seimas voted in favor of the draft resolution, 27 against and 26 abstentions.
Following deliberations in the designated lead Seimas Law & Order Committee, the Seimas intends to further consider the possible appeal to the CC on November 10.
Parliamentarians would like to ask whether a large-scale information campaign “Everything is fine, Woldemortai” is being carried out during the Seimas elections directed against LLRA-KŠS and the violations in the single-member Paneriai-Grigiškės constituency in the multi-member Andrius constituency Tapinas 11 had a significant impact on the Seimas elections, recalls ELTA.

Likewise, they affirm that the Constitution establishes the right of the Seimas to go to the Constitutional Court with an investigation into the conclusion of whether the Seimas Elections Law has not been violated.
The text of the petition was signed by the “peasants” of the Seimas, social workers and representatives of the Polish Electoral Campaign of Lithuania-Union of Christian Families.
