Šimonytė today promises a draft coalition agreement: a structured structure

“It is not a negotiation in which the regiments of negotiators, who are closed behind cabinet doors, sometimes escape to smoke or comment on the road. Both for objective reasons why we are not yet able to meet physically, and for convenience, we use all the tools that we have become used to.

So, as has been said before, yesterday we exchanged proposals between the parties and we all learned what the other two parties are offering. Today we discuss how we can move forward, ”reported I. Šimonytė on Facebook.

The candidate for prime minister reported in her publication what was happening:
– I have committed to a possible draft coalition agreement for tonight, which will include provisions that I am sure we can really agree on. These would be principles, values, short-term challenges, key works and procedures for the preparation of the Government Program;

– issues that are of particular importance to one party or another (although there may not be consensus on them), we suggest that they be included in a specific list as part of the coalition agreement. I also promised to present a preliminary draft of this list;

– A draft government program would be attached to the contract, prepared by agreeing on the above parts and appointing a program preparation group. This group will evaluate those detailed proposals, many of which were made yesterday, but which are not yet up to the standards of the coalition agreement and / or require further discussion.

“Over the long weekend, the negotiating partners will evaluate the draft agreement and the list of important issues, and prepare comments, which we will be able to discuss early next week, when I finally hope to meet live. I hope that soon we can get to a final agreement and allocate the remaining time for the preparation of the draft of the Government’s program, ”wrote I. Šimonytė.
