Šimonytė: this does not mean that cricketers will remain high after the Seimas elections

“Someone here is probably deliberately creating that intrigue, because we need to say something.” For someone, that talk can be useful, but I, as someone who has voted for the National Union for the past 15 years, know very well what the Patriotic Union list looked like in all elections. In all the elections, the situation was very similar: the people who are generally assigned to the Christian wing always held high positions in the internal ranking, “I. Šimonytė said on Friday in Žinių radijo’s” Opinių “program.

According to her, conservative voters pay a lot of attention to the classification, so the situation may change after the elections.

“This does not mean that they (cricketers – ELTA) will remain in high office after the Seimas elections, because the National Union voter is special because he is probably the most active in the ranking of the list presented in the elections”. Just for statistics, it can be said that National Union voters focus primarily on ranking. Voters in other parties are much less likely to change the list that is offered for election. After the elections, that list usually changes quite a bit, ”said I. Šimonytė.
According to the MP, the list may still change a bit, because according to party rules, the list leader and party president Gabriel Landsbergis can adjust it.

“I really don’t see anything very dramatic here. That was the will of the party’s rankings. Gabriel and I have the right to slightly change the list according to the rules that have been approved,” added the politician.
ELTA recalls that the first two places on the TS-LKD list – non-supporters I. Šimonytė and party president G. Landsbergis – were not ranked.

Third and fourth place after the ranking were the member of the Seimas National Defense and Security Committee, Krikdem Laurynas Kasčiūnas and the member of the Environmental Protection Committee, as well as the representative of the Christian flank Paulius Saudargas.
