The head of government also said he would have been grateful to the previous “peasant” government if his cabinet had not had to make difficult decisions.

The government decided on Sunday to extend and tighten the quarantine. Most stores, with the exception of grocery stores and pharmacies, will be closed starting Wednesday, preventing people from leaving home without good reason.
Residents of a house or no more than two people will be able to take walks in open areas within the municipality without meeting other people.
The quarantine in Lithuania is valid until January 31.
The government extended the quarantine on Sunday until January 31, in addition to tightening quarantine measures: restricting movement from one municipality to another, banning non-essential stores, leaving open food, optical and orthopedic stores, pharmacies, services veterinarians.
