“Obviously, we will have no chance to cancel the full quarantine on March 1, because the situation will not be so good,” said the Prime Minister.

He said the terms under which the quarantine will be extended will be considered next week.

“There may be several of those changes, if the situation continues to move in the right direction, all discussions will be postponed until next Wednesday,” the head of government said on Wednesday.

The Prime Minister announced that the still closed cultural sector could receive good news next week.

The head of government said that next week’s cabinet meeting could also decide on the lifting of movement restrictions in all municipalities in the ring.

“There are several reasons, if we evaluate the color of the Marking (municipal, aut. P.), you will see that in some cases the colors of the ring and the metropolitan municipalities differ because the number of cases per 100 thousand. population in 14 days. But there are also situations where the colors differ because the proportion of positive studies is very high.

This can mean several things: there is a disproportionate number in the scope of testing, where the probability of finding coronavirus is much higher. (…) The sooner the municipalities begin to analyze their community in general, not only the concentrated sample, where the probability of the virus is high, the more the numbers will be compared and the fewer differences there will be due to a high rate of positive tests ”, said the Prime Minister at a press conference after the I. Šimonytė government meeting.

“Because these differences exist and we will have a joint decision on the next quarantine regime next Wednesday, it was agreed that we would make all the decisions at the same time. I hope the differences decrease, maybe even disappear during that week. And we will be able to speak not only of the three smallest, but perhaps also of all the municipalities of the ring, for the sake of simplicity, ”said the Prime Minister.

Advised for reporting post-vaccine side effects

Speaking about complaints in the public sphere about side effects after injection of AstraZeneca, the Prime Minister noted that all vaccines used in Lithuania have been approved as safe.

“It’s not great news that vaccines can have side effects, different people have different side effects. There are descriptions that someone may feel flu-like symptoms, someone may feel chills, someone may experience muscle pain. (…) It would be very good if people who feel stronger than the apparently understandable side effects made sure to report it to the State Agency for Medicines Control, ”said I. Šimonytė.

According to her, so far all reported side effects are in line with the possible side effects listed in the vaccine descriptions.

“We would definitely not allow the use of unsafe vaccines, but we are monitoring the situation. (Netur) We don’t have a very large data series and a detailed assessment of the proportion of people who have experienced these symptoms from a pooled sample of vaccinated, but there are some people of virtually any drug use, ”the Prime Minister explained. .
