“Of course, there may be people who are not members of the Seimas and people who do not belong to a political party. After all, I do not belong to a political party, it would be strange for me to impose such requirements on others, which I myself do not fulfill” I. Šimonytė told LRT radio.

I. Šimonytė affirms that it will try to avoid the mistakes of the Government in 2016, when it became clear that the ministers do not have the full support of the Seimas.

“When we look back on the 2016 experiment, the main problem was not that people were professionals and had a good knowledge of the field they were going to lead. The problem is that there was no support for these candidacies in the Seimas, so the reforms that the ministers wanted to carry out did not receive support in the Seimas. This is exactly the situation I would like to avoid. Whether he is a member of the Seimas or not a member of the Seimas is not so important, ”said the candidate for prime minister.

After the signing of the ruling coalition agreement between the National Union of Lithuanian Christian Democrats (TS-LKD), the Liberal Movement and the Freedom Party on Monday, Prime Minister candidate Ingrida Šimonytė has yet to reveal the specific names of who could occupy the position of minister or president of the Seimas.
