TS-GDL won 51 seats in the Seimas elections.

When asked if now is a good time for conservatives to come to power, given the Covid-19 pandemic, I. Šimonytė joked:

“It is possible that the Union of the Fatherland will never have a quiet moment to try to form a government.”

However, the TS-LKD candidate for prime minister acknowledges that the situation regarding Covid-19 needs serious solutions.

“There are a lot of problems that need to be addressed fairly quickly. This is both next year’s budget problem and Covido’s situation. And today we saw something weirder when the statistics changed during the day. Obviously that situation doesn’t give much peace.” I. Šimonytė told reporters on election night.

According to her, the party hears many fears from the medical community that the voice of professionals is not being heard.

“It just came to our attention then. First of all, it should be very clear who talks to whom, what and how decisions are made. What we miss the most today. We lack transparency and clarity as to why the government is choosing one or other advice. Whose say is the deciding word in this situation? ”I. Šimonytė said.

“The main thing, it seems to me, is to consult with those people who can help make decisions based on science and evidence and then make those decisions public,” added I. Šimonytė.

However, she is reluctant to claim that she undergoes a universal quarantine.
