The officers arrived early at the apartment building on Daugėlių Street and at the seventh hour they were locked in the staircase, where it was suspected that it was an illegal trade in a “cabin” that attracted a man. After some time, investigators detained the Curonian Spit and found a 0.2-liter glass bottle with “medicine” that gave off a specific smell of house vodka. The man indicated where he bought that liquid. The buyer loved that homemade vodka was necessary because he was feeling so bad since he drank yesterday.
“I knew it was illegal, I bought it because I needed to recover, because in the store without 10 am I would not have been able to recover and my chest hurt …”, explained the detainee.
As soon as they were able to separate themselves from this “patient”, the officers saw another entering the same staircase. This one was stopped, leaving by the door.
He had taken the medication on the spot because he had been given the opportunity. Upon entering the apartment of the “ambulance”, the officers found graduated glasses into which the amount desired by the client was poured on the spot.
As officers searched the apartment, seven other “patients” knocked on the door. The appearance of the officers at the gate disappointed them greatly. And only when a police car approached the apartment building did the clients go out and no longer knock on the door.
Officials found about 20 liters of liquid with a specific smell of house vodka and 33 packages of FEST cigarettes, not marked with the seals of the Republic of Lithuania, with a 64-year-old woman and her 52-year-old partner living here.
A pre-trial investigation was initiated on the illegal possession and sale of domestic alcoholic beverages and an administrative process was opened on the acquisition and possession of products subject to excise duties.
The hostess of the apartment has previously been convicted of illegal storage and sale of domestic spirits.
