“He won because the election was rigged. NO ELECTORAL GUARDS OR OBSERVERS have been admitted, the votes have been brought to the tables by a private company of the radical left,” says Trump’s tweet, which is the clearest acknowledgment of defeat of the president so far.
Trump refused to formally acknowledge defeat in the election and has repeatedly said that he intends to overturn the results through legal action, but found no evidence of massive manipulation in the Nov.3 election.
Yet the first two words of Trump’s Sunday tweet, written two days after he realized that “time will tell” if he will remain president, seem like another step toward acknowledging defeat.
Thousands of Trump supporters demonstrated in Washington on Saturday to express support for his fraud allegations. At night, clashes broke out between rallies and protesters.
At least 20 people have been arrested, including four who violated firearms laws and one who attacked a police officer, according to reports.
D. Trump himself, who was going to play golf, passed the rally with his tuple. The president smiled through the armored window of his limousine at the loudly cheery supporters holding up signs bearing placards such as “Best President of All Time” and “Short 2020: Keep America Great.”
To many of Trump’s weekend messages on Twitter about the rigged elections, the social network added that they contained “controversial” information.
