On Thursday, vaccination for patients aged 80 and over was started at the Family Medicine Center of the Santara Clinics of the Vilnius University Hospital. President Valdas Adamkus and his wife Alma and Professor Vytautas Landsbergis were among the first 75 older adults to be vaccinated.

According to the Communication Service of the clinics, President V. Adamkus and his wife arrived in good spirits and stated that they and his wife had never had the slightest hesitation that it was necessary to be vaccinated against COVID-19.
“I am glad that we have the opportunity to take care of the Lithuanian people. The specialists are so skilled that they do their job so well that no one should hurt anyone,” said V. Adamkus.
Another 216 seniors from the Family Medicine Center will be vaccinated at the Santara clinics on Friday, and vaccination will continue on Saturday.
Head of the Internal Diagnosis Department of Clinicas Santara dr. Aušra Marcijonienė invites all older people to be positive and not to participate in unnecessary discussions: vaccination is necessary.
