September 7 while working at the cash register, the woman made a costly mistake. 7:25 pm two men approached her to pay for the purchased goods. To pay for the € 17 purchase, one of them presented a € 100 bill, the cashier declared at the cash register that she had received € 200 and the machine returned a refund of € 183.
A woman who was tired and lost vigilance during the workday gave up that amount. It only paid off after a while, when the buyers had already left. The woman would have had to pay for the loss out of her own pocket. For her, it is a huge amount.
The Šiauliai County Police Communications Branch invited the buyer recorded on the video to respond and return the overpayment. And how glad he was to find out about the situation, and he went to the supermarket in good faith.
The man regretted a misunderstanding that he had not noticed and returned the overpayment received. At the same time, it restored sellers and trust in people.
And a lot of good people. After spreading information about the story, the investigator received a large number of phone calls and letters: people offered to transfer a few euros to the seller’s account to ease the financial burden.
The police thank everyone for their willingness to help the person in trouble and the man who repaid the overpayment for their understanding and benevolent solution to the situation.
