“Our goal is to make the candidate’s path to us as easy as possible – after all, it is simply more convenient to get in touch with a potential employer on an application that is constantly being used. Today, candidates already want a shorter and easier work process, so lengthy selection and careful preparation of cover letters are a thing of the past, ”Eglė Staniulionė, head of the Bitė Lietuva People’s Embassy, told the media.

Up to 32 percent. Lithuanians would be interested in participating in the company’s job interview if there was only one selection stage, 22 percent. – if it is not necessary to prepare CV or cover letter, and 12%. – An informal setting was chosen for a job interview: a cafe or a park, according to a survey conducted by research company Spinter tyrimai this summer.

Men are more daring, women are more demanding

Sympathy for the “Bitė” profile created in the application was expressed by specialists from various fields and experience.

“We are primarily looking for sales specialists, and suitable candidates for that position can be evaluated based on their personal qualities: communication skills, courage, self-confidence. Informal communication in the app allowed us to evaluate these qualities,” says E. Staniulionė He adds that he was surprised that several doctors were interested in the company’s profile.

According to the expert, it is also unusual that the profile on “Tinder” was more interested in men than in women, when he generally has to communicate more often with the candidates. This can be explained by the general trend: women in the application are much more demanding than men. The latter are more likely to express interest in someone else, when at that time women are only interested in one in 20 people, according to data from the statistical analysis platform Swinder Swipestats.

Even shorter selection

The employee search on Tinder was done without the usual attributes: a CV and a cover letter. The details of the job interviews are gone: the candidate has to “sell himself” to a future employer, which made the candidates feel much freer and bolder.

“All the conversations started with a phone line, we communicated as usual every day, informally. The large influx of candidates and the ongoing job interviews reveal that this way of communicating is attractive to the candidates – they shared their experiences , expectations and goals with much more ease and courage. We also plan to implement similar bold innovations in the future, “says E. Staniulionė.

The hiring process became extremely short, as the next stage after the Tinder correspondence was a job interview. The unconventional way of finding employees has allowed us to attract creative, inventive and bold candidates who have joined the team of sales professionals.

Long-term benefits

And how did the candidates themselves react to the company profile on the dating app?

This decision of ours received a lot of attention: there were many discussions of experts on social networks, at the same time criticism was not lacking. However, the candidates themselves were mostly positive about the project. Some got lost, they checked to see if we were really looking for acquaintances, but then they generally praised the non-standard project, or immediately presented their activities and hobbies. In the course of the project, we received messages from candidates who did not make it to the next stage: they kept wondering how they were doing or how many candidates were there, ”says E. Staniulionė.
