Thursday from 4 pm Belarusian officials suspended the departure of cars from Lithuania through the international controls of Šalčininkai, Medininkai, Lavoriškės and Raigardas. According to the border guards of the neighboring country, such a decision is associated with the threat of a pandemic.

However, both on Thursday night, Friday night and Friday morning, some people who drove to Belarus during the four points were admitted, SBGS said in a press release.

According to SBGS, these were Belarusian citizens returning to their country. Truckers and citizens of other countries with Belarusian work visas, employment contracts or residence permits also crossed the border without restrictions.

The remaining citizens of other countries (including Lithuania) cannot enter Belarus.

Buses, if their passengers are Belarusian citizens, can also cross the border into this country. Citizens of other countries do not get lost, they get off the buses and go back to Lithuania.

Trucks enter Belarus through the Lavoriškės, Medininkai, Šalčininkai and Raigard checkpoints without restrictions, regardless of the citizens of the countries driving them.

According to preliminary data, there are no restrictions on leaving Belarus.
