“From the girl I saw in the nursing home to the current Lydia, there are light years. And I saw every step of her that was practically covered in blood, because it was her journey through herself, a journey of self-confidence. I was around.

Rasa still remembers very well how one normal working day, walking through the corridors of a nursing home, he saw a little girl Lidija fall into his heart. At that time, Rasa already had two children.
“It just came to our knowledge then. But I couldn’t forget her. In the first half of the year she pushed me in every possible way,” says the woman.
Rasa has to disappoint those who believe that the woman had only the determination to accept into her family a girl who grew up in a foster home, and all the problems were solved. Rasa says the opposite: with that solution, the problems had just begun and she had to go a long and difficult road before hitting the heart of the teenager.
“I invited her to the guests, to Vilnius, to our house. And after that small step, we began to communicate. Now that I look back, I can only say one thing: Lydia is the largest university of my life. In all senses. It was an extremely strong personal school for me emotionally. I have had to go through really difficult situations many times for me and realize what is most important and what it is about. And why am I with that girl? And What is the purpose? And, in fact, one of the biggest difficulties was the very beginning, because in the first half of the year, it really took me away in every possible way, ”Rasa relates about the painful life experience.
