Without disclosing the financial terms of the deal, Sanofi announces that BioNTech / Pfizer will begin production of the SARS-CoV-2 virus vaccine at its Frankfurt am Main plant.

France had high hopes that its pharmaceutical giant Sanofi would contribute to the first vaccination campaign, but now admits that its vaccine is unlikely to be ready by the end of the year.
French authorities are pressuring Sanofi to produce officially approved COVID-19 vaccines from its competitors, given the poor epidemiological situation, the huge demand for these vaccines, and the logistical difficulties involved.
