According to him, residents are invited to get vaccinated without interruption and there is also the opportunity to register.

The municipality encourages younger family members to help older ones to do so.

“We called non-stop. We have published an email. email for those who want to register, as social workers, doctors and the elderly call it, ”said J. Rybakas.

According to him, the municipality is currently building lists of younger people who want to get vaccinated.

“Queues are already forming where there are people under 65, there are those who want to. If there were a mass vaccination, AstraZeneca would also go, said the director of the municipal administration of the Šalčininkai district.

However, it is necessary to change vaccination regimens to vaccinate younger people.

“We are waiting for the moment when there will be a permit, we do not want to violate the general order (…). We are waiting for the next priority group to be activated, “said J. Rybakas.

He stated that all Pfizer-BioNTech and Moderna vaccines are used in the area.

He also believes that older people in the area can be encouraged not to get vaccinated by their younger family members.

“There is a problem that older people consult with their children and because they are skeptical, it is transmitted. When there is no single reliable source, when there is a lot of information, there is fear for the people, ”said the councilor.

According to her, some people may even be afraid to go to medical institutions because they have had several cases of coronavirus.

“A person needs to be explained, told, persuaded and we will lose that information war,” said J. Butkevičienė.
