“It is not the Minister of Finance who decides what it should be. If such a law is passed, then it will be the thirteenth pension and the Government will have the task of finding financial financing for this pension. We cannot project until there is a law, because, you know, the Budget Act and the legislation requires that we can present a budget as scheduled by current legislation, and not as it would be if it were, “said Skvernel.

Emphasizing that the Finance Minister says that we cannot make long-term financial commitments, the Prime Minister reiterated:
“It is not the Minister of Finance, but the Government of the Republic of Lithuania who decides what the state budget will be.”
The amendment to the law prepared by the members of the LLRA-KŠS faction of Seimas Zbignev Jedinskis and Vanda Kravčionok stipulates that starting next year the thirteenth pension will be paid in December of the current calendar year.
The thirteenth pension would be paid from the state budget allocations assigned to Sodra.
The Seimas has begun to consider whether to legalize the so-called thirteenth pension of 200 euros.
Budget Clarity – Wednesday

“Should I try to explain to you in some way that the budget will be discussed in the government tomorrow and after the government meeting it will be possible to try to answer this question for you,” he told reporters at Seimas.
At the same time, the Prime Minister assured that the draft budget will reflect all the commitments made by law.
