Cichanouskaya’s name was added to the Russian Interior Ministry’s wanted list on Wednesday.
The record suggests that S.Cichanouskaya is wanted under an article of the Penal Code. Which is not clear.
His name may have been included in the joint lists of the allied states of Russia and Belarus by the Minsk regime. This was already the case with Stepan Putilo, blogger and founder of the NEXTA Telegram channel.

Later, an informed source told the Interfax news agency that the inclusion of S. Chichanouskaya in the wanted database of the Russian Interior Ministry is a justified technical aspect of the cooperation between Minsk and Moscow, which formed a formal union.
The source added that no criminal case has been filed against Chichanouskaya in Russia.
Russia also added former editor-in-chief Romano Protasevičius on the opposition channel Nexta’s correspondence platform on Telegram on Wednesday. The MIA database indicates that a criminal case is also being sought, but no further details are provided.
Last week, S. Cichanouskaja met with French President Emmanuel Macron in Vilnius, and he already went to Berlin, where he interacted with German Chancellor Angela Merkel.
The Kremlin only on Wednesday tried to downplay Chichanouskaya’s role by saying that President Vladimir Putin had no plans to meet with her.
Cichanouskaya, a 38-year-old political rookie, has announced the victory of the country’s leader, Aliaksandr Lukashenko, in the August presidential elections.
After the disputed election officials announced that Lukashenko had won, the country was overwhelmed by opposition protests, and Cichanouskaya was forced to leave her homeland and fled to Lithuania to avoid arrest.
Cichanouskaya seeks to increase international pressure on the Minsk regime without ending the protests in the streets of the Belarusian capital.
The United States and the European Union have imposed sanctions on Belarusian officials, sparking outrage between Minsk and its ally Moscow.
L. Linkevičius is surprised by Russia’s decision
Lithuanian Foreign Minister Linas Linkevičius is surprised by Russia’s decision to add S. Chichanouskaya to the wanted list and says it is necessary to monitor whether Moscow will not try to stop her through international channels.
“It just came to our knowledge then. Who needs to do that?” Lithuanian head of diplomacy told BNS on Wednesday.
He added that in doing so, Russia continues to try to engage the Coordinating Council.
“Here is a continuation of all the undermining and commitment of the Coordination Council. Here is another aspect, not to recognize that it can be a partner in the dialogue (…) It is disappointing, because the Coordination Council is moderate, not radical, not anti-Russian, ”said L. Linkevičius.
According to the minister, with this decision Russia clearly shows that S.Cichanouskaya would be detained immediately if he went to Belarus or Russia.
Linkevičius also warns that Moscow may try to arrest Chichanouskaya through international channels.
“It is very clear that he will be detained not only when he travels to Belarus, but also to Russia, and perhaps Russia will try to do it as it wants, and through Interpol channels,” Linkevičius said.
“It is necessary to prevent this situation, because there should be no politicized registries. This must be monitored to ensure that it does not happen. She doesn’t travel that often, but she still travels, “she added.
