The FIBA Champions League season started with a nasty defeat for the Vilnius Rytas team (0/1) led by Donalds Kairis.

Both teams continued to attack the rivals’ baskets perfectly. Andrew Goudelockas scored from distance in the 24th minute and tied the score (61:61), but Peristeri’s team soon made a great pass on defense and did not allow opponents to score even in the 4th minute. Rytas revived a bit the attack, but the defense continued to falter – 71:80.
The Vilnius people started the deciding quarter with determination and worked hard under their basket for some time. Unfortunately, S. Gray’s usual 3-pointer overcame the enthusiasm of the “Rytas” basketball players in the 35:81:90 minute. Christian Kitsing scored points in the ranks of the capital club, but the opponents also found arguments. The hosts’ defenses once again finally collapsed at the end of the duel, a defeat 88: 106.
