Reviewed upcoming government plans: government is not ready

As Julius Sabatauskas, a member of the LSDP faction, put it, “The government is starving for ideas.” According to him, the government has no ideas on how to properly prioritize.

“It is possible to smell a certain smell of the past, because this plan of measures is likely to be taken from the dusty measures of the 2008-2012 legislature, mixing the remnants with smaller and often already working proposals,” said J. Sabatauskas at the press conference.

According to J. Sabatauskas, many of the proposed measures cover a small part of important areas.

“What does the fact that only two points are dedicated to the fight against corruption say about the government’s priorities? And the government is committed to reviewing, for example, the procedure for drafting a protocol during the pre-trial investigation. Doesn’t the government believe that with such measures it will restore people’s trust in justice?

He also argued that modern wording in some of the government’s plans could strengthen the position of large companies.

“The desire of those in power to privatize public services and state companies also seems particularly threatening,” said J. Sabatauskas.

Sys: The government is poorly prepared for the spring session

For his part, the largest of the Algirdas Sys faction pointed out that the government had registered very few projects for the spring session of the Seimas.

“Most of the bills presented are not registered at all. I still lost a lot of unregistered laws at the beginning of the session. Most of the registered bills are bills of the old government. So I conclude: maybe these are the results of teleworking Is it the inaction of the government team or indifference? ”A. Sysas reflected.

According to him, the government is not keeping its promises.

“I am so badly prepared for the spring session – I lost (see – aut.p.). We need to remember what he said when he won the election, when he came to power: a lot of nice words. Unfortunately, the content is completely different,” he said. the eldest of the Social Democratic Group.

It lacked solutions to social problems and plans for recovery from the pandemic in the Government’s program implementation plan.

“We do not see specific things, they should be reflected in the spring work. The only more specific, if we talk about the quality of the population, is the salary of state officials, municipalities and employees of budgetary institutions, the so-called coefficient” noted A. Sysas.

According to the member of Seimas, the government’s plans are not ambitious.

“In the social sphere, there are more than 50 measures and actions. There are only 7 things to do this year. Of these, two laws, one serious, is the European directive on irreplaceable parental leave. (…) All the rest of the work is just to create something, like reviewing the indexation of pensions. What will it look like and what is it? It would be something specific that we will do with those pensions, “Sys said.

Sabutis: Plans are disappointing

At the time, MP Eugenijus Sabutis said the government had not listened to many of the proposals.

“As a political novice, I listened very sincerely and naively to the promises of the new rulers,” said a member of the LSDP group.

According to E. Sabutis, the government’s measures implementation plan lacks specific works and at the same time, too many new analyzes are planned.

“On the part of self-government, regional development, I want to say that, unfortunately, I did not find what I expected to find. The Association of Lithuanian Municipalities, when its program was approved, delivered an extensive document to this Government, where specific works were written next to each point of the program, which this Government could do, but it is not like that. There are no new opportunities for regional development councils; there are many responsibilities for analysis, but the regional councils do not have time to wait ”, pointed out E. Sabutis.

According to him, the document does not foresee works and increases the independence of the municipalities.

“We have to be disappointed when it is examined,” emphasized the MP.
