In a press release issued on Friday, airBaltic announces that on June 15. The company intends to launch direct flights from Vilnius to London on June 16. – to Dublin, July 6 to Dubrovnik
“The three new routes are in high demand among Lithuanian passengers,” said Martin Gauss, CEO of airBaltic.
Currently, regular flights between Lithuania and other countries can be resumed by government decision, upon presentation by the Minister for Foreign Affairs. Authorizations are not yet available for the UK, Ireland and Croatia.
At the moment, it is allowed to resume flights with Germany, Latvia, Estonia, the Netherlands, France, Norway, Denmark, Finland.
According to Rasa Jakilaitienė, a spokesman for the Foreign Ministry, airlines that sell tickets for flights that have not been authorized by the government and the people who buy them take responsibility.
“Flight permits are issued taking into account the epidemiological situation, not the number of tickets sold,” R. Jakilaitienė told BNS.
The MFA representative also emphasized that before buying tickets, people should verify the information on the procedures in force in those countries, since they all have different travel requirements and conditions.
“The fact that airplanes fly is not related to travel, as we are used to, that if an airplane flies, I can travel for tourism purposes. Unfortunately, no, and we urge you to update the information at ceļuk.urm.lt, ”said R. Jakilaitienė.
The Baltic states also agreed on a list of 27 countries from which foreigners are allowed to enter, and 24 of them do not require two weeks of self-isolation. The list will be updated every Monday.
We remind you that currently returning from the United Kingdom to Lithuania requires 14 days of self-isolation, and starting next week the same measures will apply to all who come to the United Kingdom.
