Restrictions tightened again: they wait for three weeks of universal quarantine

The government will decide on Wednesday to introduce a three-week quarantine across the country to control the spread of the coronavirus.

Prime Minister Saulius Skvernelis said yesterday that the government intends to force the closure of cafes, bars, restaurants, cinemas, museums, and that some lessons for older students would be held remotely.

According to the Prime Minister, the restrictions are expected to be introduced taking into account the recommendations of doctors and the experience of other European countries.

The government plans to decide on the following measures:

* It is forbidden to communicate with more than two families or two households, no more than ten people in total can meet. All work or leisure meetings, both indoors and outdoors, are prohibited.

* The activities of public catering establishments are prohibited, except the provision of take away food.

* The activities of museums, theaters, cinemas, libraries are suspended and institutions are allowed to provide services at a distance.

* The activities of sports clubs, swimming pools, spas, dance, singing and other contact activities, the activities of massage parlors, except medical procedures, are suspended. Hairdressers, beauty salons and other service providers will be able to operate in accordance with security requirements, accepting only pre-registered clients.

* Only members of a family or family farm or no more than two people could play together, keeping the safety requirements.

* Sports competitions can only take place without spectators.

* It is prohibited to perform services and other rituals physically, it is recommended to perform them online.

* Hotel security activities are allowed, except for catering and other group services, food can only be delivered to guest rooms or taken away.

* Work in both the public and private sectors must be carried out remotely, except when it is not possible to carry out the activity remotely.

* Only seats are allowed in public transport, maintaining a safe distance between passengers.

* Education in kindergartens and primary classes will continue to be possible in the usual way. The final year students must study distance or mixed studies. Secondary schools will have to work remotely, except for some hands-on activities.

* Nurseries for the disabled will be able to operate safely.

* Healthcare facilities will be required to provide emergency care, diagnosis, treatment and isolation of COVID-19 patients, scheduled emergency care, and facilities may restrict scheduled services. The services of private medical institutions are not prohibited.

* It is not prohibited to travel between municipalities, but it is recommended not to.

* It is recommended to give up personal celebrations, except weddings and funerals, up to 10 relatives and relatives can attend.

In the last two weeks, the morbidity in Lithuania reaches almost 300 cases per 100 thousand. population. The number of infections detected per day reached 1,000 over the weekend, with nearly 900 cases reported Tuesday.
