As Lithuania and other European countries ease the quarantine restrictions imposed due to the coronavirus, German airline Lufthansa resumes scheduled flights from Vilnius to Frankfurt on Wednesday. It is the first airline to resume flights from Vilnius after a break of almost two months.

According to data from Lithuanian airports, the plane will land in Vilnius at 17.05 and return to Frankfurt around 18.30. How many passengers will fly on these flights, the airport representative promised to clarify later.
Regular flights will take place three times a week: Monday, Wednesday and Friday.
Latvian airline Air Baltic’s first flight from Vilnius to Riga would take place on Wednesday, but the company postponed it for another time.
The government also plans to liberalize the procedure for flight permits on Wednesday: it would no longer require the permission of the Foreign and Communications Ministers, the consent of the Lithuanian Transport Security Administration would suffice.
In Lithuania, the airspace for passenger and ferry flights was closed on April 4.
