As reported by the state company, future drivers on road navigation, instead of the examiner’s instructions, will have to use 10-15 minutes. The exam usually lasts between 45 and 50 minutes.

The task will start no earlier than 10 minutes after the start of the trip and the examiner will enter the destination into the navigation device before the start of the task. The examiner may also request a special driving maneuver during the task if there is a suitable place on the road.

According to Regitra, the innovations aim to make drivers as prepared as possible for real-life situations on the road after passing the test.

“Today, the navigation device has become a daily driver’s assistant that we use when driving to new places, looking for a shorter route or to avoid congestion. By including this task in the practice test, we will encourage future drivers to learn how to distribute their attention correctly and plan the trip independently, when there is no training instructor or examiner nearby, ”says Saulius Šuminas, Deputy General Manager of Regitra.

According to the company, this method is applied in Holland, Sweden, Norway, Finland, United Kingdom
In the Kingdom and elsewhere.

In order for future drivers to get a real driving experience, in 2017 Regitra abandoned the test sites and all parking maneuvers were moved to real traffic.
