“The newly formed chimneys are always the most relevant. (…) I think that the chimneys that may appear later in educational institutions are also relevant and perhaps the most abundant,” said a representative of the NVSC during a press conference this Friday.
According to her, the new hot spots are mostly worrisome because no one knows how the number of infected people will increase.
According to D. Razmuvienė, epidemiologists are currently closely monitoring the situation in Raseiniai Šaltinis Progymnasium and Klaipėda Stasys Šimkus Conservatory.
Following the introduction of COVID-19 at the Raseiniai Source Progymnasium on Friday, 32 people who had high-risk contact with it were identified: 26 classmates, a teacher, and five family members. In addition, D. Razmuvienė emphasizes that the epidemiological study is not finished and the number of people who have been in contact is likely to increase, since the student also attended an art school.
On Thursday, a student from the conservatory was confirmed with a coronavirus, who did not attend school because he was in isolation, but camped out with other students from the conservatory at the end of the summer. This educational institution made the decision to continue the educational process in a mixed way, both through contact and distance.
D. Razmuvienė said during a press conference that currently about 30 people had high-risk contact with the infected person, and the most worrying thing is that children from all over Lithuania participated in the camp.
He also pointed out the importance of monitoring the situation in other schools, since “several cases of childhood illnesses” are recorded daily.
