R. Kurlianskis, in his testimony before the Vilnius Regional Court on Friday, spoke about the notebook that was taken from him by law enforcement during a search in May 2016. His records mention the Labor Party, Alcoholic Beverage Advertising, INPP ( Ignalina Nuclear Power Plant – BNS), LG (Lithuanian Railways) and others. He assured that the book was only to work with media projects managed by concern.
“As I said, this notebook is dedicated to the activities of the LNK group of channels: taking note of the news, taking notes in the conversations with the LNK administration. Things may be important, but not necessarily, the news can be important , but not necessarily. It is my habit to write down the details during the conversations so as not to forget or lose the thought of the conversations, “he said.
R. Kurlianskis noted that there is a “Zita” entry at the top of the book’s pages, taking into account that the entry was made before or after the interviews with LNK CEO Zita Sarakiene.
“If there is an advantage, then there is my initiative, I wanted to ask that question, if there is not an advantage, not mine,” explained R. Kurlianskis.
For example, according to him, the “LG”, “Dailydka” recordings could mean a conversation about a possible advertising campaign of “Lithuanian Railways”; according to R. Kurlianskis, the media of concern carried them out in 2008-2010, but then it was not directly agreed.
According to R. Kurlianskis, the entry about Lietuvos Paštas can also mean the “aggregation of numbers” of the advertising campaign implemented, when the public relations agency may not have paid for the services provided.
The entry “INPP”, according to your interpretation, is also related to advertising services. The prosecutors link this registry to the public contracting of radioactive waste management projects at the Ignalina Nuclear Power Plant.
“In my opinion, this could mean the intention of the administration to evaluate the advertising funds that are spent on various ongoing or future decommissioning projects of the Ignalina Nuclear Power Plant, which are funded by the European Union. Because advertising is mandatory (…). The inspection protocol says it is illegible. And secondly, even when trying to read, the word “tenderis” desired by (the prosecutor – BNS) ends with the letter “o”, explained R. Kurlianskis.

R. Kurlianskis: there was no mention of the INPP tenders
R. Kurlianskis and the company “MG Baltic” are accused of enforcing the law through V.Gapšis in seeking that the company “Mitnija” becomes the winner of the tenders of the Ignalina nuclear power plant for the management of radioactive waste. R. Kurlianskis denies it.
He stressed to the court that, for example, in a conversation with V. Gapšis in November 2015, in one of the Vilnius restaurants supporting the allegations and in the INPP episode, “there was no part of the conversation, the context “To suggest that MG Baltic” Mitnija construction company.
According to R. Kurlianskis, Gapšys himself did not react to the clues about the nuclear power plant, as can be seen in the transcripts of the conversation.
“Neither Mitnija, nor the construction company MG Baltic nor anything like that were mentioned during the entire interview of November 9, 2015. Perhaps at least in the closing speech, the prosecutor will be able to make such an accusation, an effect to recognize “Mitnija” as the winner of the tender for the Ignalina Nuclear Power Plant? ”Commented R. Kurlianskis.
In the INPP episode, the Prosecutor’s Office also relies on a conversation between R. Kurlianskis, former chairman of the board of Kauno tiltai Nerijus Eidukevičius, and CEO Aldas Rusevičius, registered in early 2016 by law enforcement in one of the Vilnius restaurants.
R. Kurlianskis assured in court that in the conversation the words of N. Eidukevičius “did you hear that story? With the certificates, the circus is somehow wrong to link the application of the law with the powers of the INPP that were not carried out at that time, because it was said that another object was discussed with the businessmen: the Vilnius national stadium, because the word “multifunctional” is mentioned.
According to him, it was also possible to speak of previous “misunderstandings” between “Mitnija” and “Kaunas Bridges”, and did not explain the context of the word “atomic” heard in the conversation.
“He says, ‘Did you hear?’ Certified for some competition in the past, but in no way for the future (…). And the fact that the word “atomic” sounded to the rescue of the defendants is their problem if the past is connected with future competitions “, assured the representative of the concern.
R. Kurlianskis stated that he simply shared his experience with the entrepreneurs, because during his time as chairman of the Mitnija board, the company participated in the “Žalgiris” stadium competition in Kaunas, although it did not win.
“It is definitely not the Ignalina nuclear power plant, as it seems to the prosecutor. Certificates, subcontractors, requirements: yes, we are discussing. But in the tender for the construction of the national stadium ”, he explained.
R.Kurlianskis: V.Gapšys agreed on discounts earlier
Prosecutors claim in the indictments that R. Kurlianskis gave V. Gapšius more than 27 thousand. bribes amounting to € 1 million for the taking of favorable and economically beneficial political decisions for the Group, part of which were awarded as discounts for political advertising by the Labor Party. The rest were disguised as support for a public body.
R. Kurlianskis claimed in court on Friday that interview transcripts show that V. Gapšys came to dinner in November 2015 after agreeing with the media of concern about discounts for political advertising, thus the allegation that he asked for and received discounts from Kurlianskis is unfounded. .
