MEP A. Maldeikienė reported on her accusation of harassment against R. Karbauskis in her questionnaire on the social network. “Today, I appealed to the Lithuanian Ombudsman for Equal Opportunities to assess the behavior of Mr. Ramūnas Karbauskis, as I have good reason to state that the campaign supported by him and the thoughts directed against the TV member Raskevičius in public repeatedly comply with the Lithuanian Equal Opportunity Law. 7 d. Intentional sexual harassment “.

As Izabelė Švaraitė, public relations representative of the Office of the Ombudsman for Equal Opportunities, informed Vakaro žinios, the ombudsman Agneta Skardžiuvienė will present her conclusion on the investigation of A. Maldeikienė.

Have you already received a request from the Ombudsman for Equal Opportunities to explain any of his words or actions? – “Vakaro žinios” asked Ramūnas Karbauskis, the prime minister of the shadow government.

– Not for now. I think the controller himself is sane, he understands that there should be some basis for that. I would like to see what the reasoning is for that report. In the last four years, there have been so many complaints about me to different authorities that it doesn’t scare me.

It seems to me that MEPs are entering the moon phase. Probably A. Maldeikiene lacks attention. Seriously, she doesn’t understand it enough, so she tries to use my last name.

Today a new tactic is applied in Lithuania, when those who want to achieve something pretend to be victims and start yelling that they are being attacked. I suggest that you go out and talk to people. Perhaps then they will realize that the majority of the Lithuanian population is discriminated against, that they accept different values and do not support the Istanbul Convention and similar decisions.

The current criticism of the committee chair is publicly seen as an attack. While you were in power during the music awards, a poster hung on stage in which your face became the image of a clown. But then no one saw bullying?

– I understand that what is possible for some is not possible for others. Conservatives, Liberals and their colleagues are inviolable in Lithuania. All the others for them as a misunderstanding. In this situation, I would like to ask those singers how they feel about the current government. They got the power they wanted, but it turned out they didn’t care.

This only shows that the government has misled the Lithuanian people.

It seems that the position of uniting the society in the Seimas, the chairman of the Human Rights Committee, only opposes the society …

– It seems strange to me how those in power complain. It seems to me that it is not so easy to defeat those in power.

I understand residents that, seeing that in the face of a pandemic, the chairman of the Seimas Human Rights Committee is speaking seriously about the reform of the Seimas toilets, they wrote a petition and asked the chairman of the committee to resign. But this has nothing to do with sexual orientation. It is simply obvious that a person cares about what is not important to the whole society, but only to certain groups or even to him personally.

But to say that I am guilty now …

I just said that this man in his bio says he is a “professional gay”. So it’s not that I write about him that way, but that he says it about himself. I was surprised by that post because I wasn’t sure what that term means. For example, I am an agronomist. But what does it mean to be a “professional gay”? Does that mean you make money from it?

Are you not surprised that in the current situation, the case of possible discrimination against TVRaskevičius is being investigated by your former workplace?

– I am no longer surprised by those things. But nobody really cares about studying. Like what the conclusions will be. The key is to accuse publicly.

Perhaps to someone it seems that such pressure will affect me and I will stop speaking what I think. I can only wish that these people step aside.

There is a struggle of values provoked by the debate on the legitimacy of the Istanbul Convention and the homogeneous association. During the last period, did you feel pressured to put the convention on the agenda?

– There was no pressure. I have delved into the text of the convention and have said many times in public that we will not accept it while we are in power. Lithuania does not need such a convention dealing with gender. Furthermore, organizations representing sexual minorities are known to have been actively involved in the drafting of its text. That says a lot.

Today at the Seimas, I think there is a great threat that the convention will be ratified. The only question is, how many people will appear in the Conservative Party who care about the traditional family? They are few, I’m afraid, but they will also have “broken arms.”
