According to him, due to the failure of the party, it will not collapse: “Nothing will change, because we will continue to publicize cases of corruption.”
When asked what he would do after such an unsuccessful election, Puteikis said the party would publish a monthly newspaper and explain to people that it had chosen “budget thieves and major corruption”, and that it intended to be the editor of the publication.
He does not believe that the party leadership should change as a result of the failed election. “I don’t think so. Did I do something wrong?” Asked N. Puteikis, who had served as a parliamentarian for two and a half terms.
He also stressed that the electoral party will not analyze it yet, because it is not the time: “The only candidate of the party that went to the second round needs support.”
In the second round in the Telšiai district, Algirdas Bacevičius, a representative of the Center nationalist party, fighting with a “worker” Valentinas Bukauskas.
Summarizing the electoral results, N. Puteikis said that these elections were won by people who “want a lot of freedoms, but do not want compromises.”
The Center Party leader remained fourth in the Dane County port city, collecting 10.53 percent. votes. N. Puteikis also lost the leadership position on the party’s list: from first to second, the Center Party in the multi-member electoral district got 2.28 percent. he left the board behind and did not win mandates.
N. Puteikis was a member of the Seimas for a short time in 1997 and in the terms of 2012-2016 and 2016-2020.
