“The ever-changing situation in the country forces us to make appropriate decisions. For the moment, our priority is to ensure the safety of employees and customers. Last week, we made the decision to remove the masks for buyers free of charge wherever is introducing local quarantine. Seeing the growing number of COVID-19 cases, this week we decided to apply this solution in all stores in the country “, says Ernesta Dapkienė, Director of the Department of Communication and Image of Maxima.
She asks shoppers to be vigilant: to wear masks correctly, to keep a safe distance, to disinfect their hands, and to try to go to stores as little as possible.
Masks for buyers will be distributed at the information booth. In smaller stores where there are no information boxes, the masks will be distributed in one of the regular boxes.
“We invite customers to plan their purchases and go to stores as little as possible. I would also like to remind you that the Barbora Express network was expanded in the spring and collection stations have appeared in many cities across the country. By choosing them, the buyers will be able to buy all the necessary products without having to go to the store, and our employees will collect all the necessary products, ”says E. Dapkienė.
Maxima tents now meet more stringent hygiene requirements: carts and baskets and other miscellaneous surfaces are regularly disinfected, and fresh air circulation is increased for tent ventilation.
Maxima has special coronavirus insurance for its current and future employees. Employees receive the necessary protective equipment: medical masks or safety shields, gloves, hand sanitizing liquids. Temperature is measured for employees on a daily basis. If workers feel unwell, have cold or flu symptoms, they are asked to stay home.
