Proposals for bars and cafes are being prepared: working hours not yet reduced, but other restrictions are desired

To limit the opening hours of cafes and bars, the government did not approve it on Wednesday.

During a remote press conference on Friday, A.Veryga said that so far no clear proposals have been made on what measures bars, cafes and restaurants could take to stop the spread of COVID-19.

“Most likely, it will be proposed, as I have said before, to reserve a certain area per person visiting the institution. And that area should be counted as the place where people still stay and spend time. Not the kitchen area, not the total area, but where the catering area is. But until it’s agreed, it’s more of a preliminary proposal, “said the manager of statewide emergency operations.

According to A.Veryga, the proposal to limit the working hours of public catering establishments will no longer be presented.

“Other proposals will be made. When it was discussed in the Government and at the COVID-19 Steering Committee meeting, it was suggested that other measures be taken. And if those other measures don’t work, go back to the time limits,” he said.
