In the Lithuanian Basketball League (Betsafe-LKL) a tenacious match took place in Alytus, where local basketball players Dzūkijos (2/2) 72:69 (13:13, 19:15, 15:26, 25:15) broke the club “Labas GAS” (0/3) of Prienai.
The latter remains one of the two who have yet to win a single match this season at Betsafe-LKL. Another of these teams is Pasvalys “Milk Stars”.
The match started rudely and without success. “Dzūkija” had a hard time, but gained a slight advantage (21:13), and the legionary company helped maintain it, allowing him to move away at 31:21. Ignas Sargiūnas and Jovanas Kljajičius reduced Prieniškės’s lag (28:32), so the guests ended the second half on a more positive note.

With just over half the quarter remaining, the teams exchanged pitches, and finally I. Sargiūnas received a technical foul for the reply. J.Furmanavičius took important cold-blooded penalties (68:65), but I.Sargiūnas seized the opportunity from under the basket, and G.Stankevičius also corrected a teammate’s shot – 69:68. J.Furmanavičius stopped throwing fines again: he hit them (70:69), and M.Zigmantavičius scored decisive points when he burned for 15 seconds. Newkirk missed two tickets, but that did not take away the victory.
J. Kljajičius suffered a leg injury for a minute and a half before leaving the field in pain.
“Hola GAS” rookie Isiah Umipigas scored 3 points (1/7 “of the game) in 23 minutes, bounced, made 3 passes, made a mistake and committed 3 fouls.
Prienai’s team won the match for the balls at 41:30. Both teams did not shine with three points: the hosts scored 4 out of 18 (22%) and the guests 7 out of 29 (24%).
