Algirdas Jurevičius was born in Vievis in 1972. March 24 He studied at Vievis High School, continued his studies at Vilnius J. Tallat-Kelpša High School of Music (now Vilnius Juozas Tallat-Kelpša Conservatory). 1986-1991 conducted the choir and worked as an organist on Vievis St. in the church of Santa Ana; 1990-1991 he worked as a religion teacher at the 44th Vilnius High School (now Senvagė).
1991-1996 studied at the Kaunas Priest Seminary and the Vytautas Magnus University Catholic Theology Faculty, graduating with honors with a Bachelor of Theology. While studying at the priests seminary, he was serving as an organist, and when Pope John Paul II visited Kaunas on September 6, 1993, he played the organ during Saint Mass at Kaunas Santaka.
1996 December 26 ordained priest. 1996-1998 studied at Vytautas Magnus University, Faculty of Catholic Theology, graduating with a degree in Catholic theology.
1997-1998 he worked as vicar of the Kaišiadorys parish and educator of the Kaunas seminary. Since 1999 – Assistant in the Department of General Theology, Vytautas Magnus University.
2000-2004 he studied practical theology at the Philosophisch-theologische Hochschule Sankt Georgen in Frankfurt am Main (Germany), where he obtained a doctorate in practical theology.
2001-2004 attended the Polish pastoral ministry (Polska Misja Katolicka, Hanau) in the Diocese of Fulda and was responsible for the Lithuanian pastoral ministry in Stuttgart (Diocese of Rothenburg-Stuttgart).
2011 he worked at the Lithuanian Academy of Sciences as an expert in project science.
1998-2008 was a notary in the case of the beatification of the servant Archbishop Teofilius Matulionis. 2017-2018 – postulator pal. In the case of the canonization of T. Matulionis.
2006 awarded the VMU medal.
2008 Pope Benedict XVI granted Fr. A. Jurevičius the title of His Holiness Chaplain (Monsignor).
2015 awarded the Exuli bene de Ecclesia merito medal.
2017 – Culture Prize of the Laureate of the Municipality of the Kaišiadorys District. Author of several books and numerous scientific and journalistic articles.
2018 July 2 Pope Francis Mgr. Algirdas Jurevičius was appointed Bishop Augzilius of the Archdiocese of Kaunas, granting him the title of Bishop of Materiana. 2018 August 30 A. Jurevičius was elected bishop at the Episcopal Conference of Lithuania responsible for the teaching (doctrine) of the Church.
From 2019 March 1 he worked as apostolic administrator of the Archdiocese of Kaunas.
