Police warn residents: fraud is spreading on social media

[ad_1]

A virtual police patrol that caught criminals on a social network detected a hoax many trust.

Currently, scammers are re-creating new fake pages on the social network Facebook, on behalf of Lidl Lietuva, in which they advertise “contests”.

We remember previously published information about contests for social purposes.

When you enter a fraudulent “contest” (comment on a post, share a post, or even click “Like”), you will receive a private message congratulating you on winning the prize and inviting you to register.

From now on, “turn on” the highest level of surveillance:

* If you are asked to provide your personal data, please do not provide it as it is a scam that you want to use your data.

* If you are asked to enter your payment card details, please do not enter, because it is a scam that wants to take all the money on your card.

* If the message is written with obvious grammatical, stylistic or logical errors, it is obvious that they are scammers from abroad.

* If the message contains a link, be careful not to open it, as you may receive malware on your computer.

Don’t lose your vigilance on social media. Always make sure your account is official and really belongs to a well-known person or company. Don’t be lazy to search for information and check if other Internet users have been misled in a similar way.

Finally, if you believe in a scam and have been a victim, report it to the police as soon as possible using the electronic services portal www.epolicija.lt
