The officers’ announcement on the Lithuanian police Facebook account on Wednesday night begins with a call in capital letters: “WE SHARE !!!”
The police are also asking for public help.
“Anyone who has information relevant to this investigation, visual material, other information or who can provide information about people who have committed illegal actions during the riots near the Seimas, please send this information by email. By email [email protected]” , – is advertised on Facebook.
When submitting the information, please provide your contact details for the officials to contact you, indicated in the message.
“We also invite people who have suffered the actions of illegal riot participants to respond and contact investigators at 8605 67339,” police said.
As is known, the more or less civilized rally held in the Seimas on August 10 degenerated into an uprising of aggression, confusion, inappropriate actions and provocations, so that the forces guarding the parliament building had a basis for retaliation.
Up to 18 officers were injured in the attacks and clashes.
There were several waves of confusion, the last of which ended with the mass extermination and arrest of so-called rioters. 26 suspects spent this time behind bars on Wednesday, but there is no doubt that the long-term incident involved a series of crimes for which those responsible have not yet escaped the attention of law enforcement.
Dozens of police and public security agents were injured, especially during the clashes.
After the Seimas session, some of the protesters blocked the exits of the parliamentary building and the exit of the inner courtyard of the Seimas. When they were taken from the building by officers, riots broke out: bottles were thrown at officers, flares were fired and tear gas was used at protesters. 18 officials were injured in the incident, BNS recalls.
So the police are asking for public help to expose all potential criminals or even criminals.
Also on Wednesday, representatives of the Lithuanian media circulated a joint public statement in response to attacks on journalists who fulfilled their duty to inform the public in the Seimas that day.
