“This minister did nothing, he played the grasshopper on the violin in the summer, he treated the institutions with rejection, he said that when the situation started to get worse, he said that the municipalities had to take something here, and then they made their own decisions.” Poderskis told BNS.

“It is difficult to reconcile with logic, but it never did, and we can only rejoice that all this nonsense is the song of this outgoing official,” he said.

On Tuesday, A. Veryga said that the difficult situation of the coronavirus in the capital was determined by the decision of the Vilnius authorities to reject the recommendation to limit the working hours of bars, cafes and discos.

“This is a municipality that is constantly looking for ways to circumvent the requirements and recommendations, and then it sees that the situation is bad, it attacks to blame the ministry,” he said.

“I perfectly remember the declarations of the director of the administration that here we must not limit anything and that the measures must be applied with great precision. This is now the result of so-called precision measurements, ”said A.Veryga.

“I have to go to work early in the morning and I could see perfectly well what was happening near the discos, where people were divided, there was no allusion to the established requirements and it couldn’t be. The behavior of the people there would be strange if the situation in Vilnius had not deteriorated. As we wanted, we have done so ”, said the minister.

“We wanted more freedom, paraphrasing some politicians feeling, we have more coronavirus ”, said A. Veryga.

The government has announced the quarantine in Vilnius since Wednesday, and it will also take effect in Kaunas and Klaipėda, as well as in five other municipalities.

Including these municipalities, there will be a total of 21 quarantine powers.
