Vilmantė Uselienė, a pharmacist at Eurovaistinė, said in a statement to the media that it is noted that currently most people wear disposable medical masks; a small number of pharmacy customers choose multiple masks.
“I generally recommend wearing disposable protective masks when you go to places where you have very close contact with many different people, and only when you know that you may not be there or are not outside can you put on a reusable mask,” he advises.
When customers buy masks from a pharmacy, the pharmacist often asks them if they know how to use them correctly. Cloth masks, which are made of the wrong material, often do not fit well, so the pharmacist advises paying attention to this when choosing a reusable mask, as well as seeing if the shape of the mask is adequate to cover both the mouth like nose.
Wash at temperatures above 60 degrees.
Poorly maintained protective masks are harmful. It is often overlooked that a person wearing the same mask sighed and scolded, talked to her a lot, and then just put it in his pocket “until next time.” It is strongly recommended to dispose of disposable masks after 3-4 hours. Use and re-wash every day, it is best to have as many reusable masks that it is possible to use several times a day and always clean.
It is strongly recommended that disposable masks be thrown away after 3-4 hours. Wear and rewash every day.
Mask hygiene is especially important, as it can not only prevent infection, but it can also lead to various skin problems, such as pimples or abscesses. There is even a new term “mask” (the combination of the words mask and acne).
Cloth masks should be washed after each use and, according to the pharmacist, it is understood that it will not be possible to wash them every half hour, but it is wrong to do it only every week.
Laura Bielskė, head of pharmaceutical communication, says that residents of pharmacies are still very interested in disposable masks, currently the interest is especially felt in municipalities, where quarantine is introduced and the masks must be used outdoors.
