Restaurants, cafes and bars register customers in various ways: some ask them to write personal data on a special sheet, others to mark it electronically.

After seeing articles about future obligation in the media, Matas Skaržauskas, a programmer from Vilnius, decided to help companies himself.

I want to help you survive that period a little easier.

“I have seen that some companies do not have solutions, they use Google Forms or they simply charge SMS.” 15 minutes said the IT specialist.

It took him a couple of days to create the www.restreg.lt system.

32 restaurants have already registered

M.Skaržauskas says that his platform for restaurants or bars will be completely free.

“We want to help them survive that period a little easier,” he said.

On the platform created by this developer, institutions must register with a name and logo.

So far, 32 institutions have registered on this platform not only from Vilnius or other large cities, but also from smaller ones, such as Birštonas.

The registration process itself should seem simple enough for smartphone customers – just scan the QR code at the office or visit the specified website and enter the first, last and phone number there.

How to use this data is a matter for the restaurant itself, says the system developer.

“The institution itself can see the data for the last 21 days and take action if the institutions require it,” said M. Skarzuskas.

The programmer also stated that he is constantly striving to make the system as secure as possible, and after commenters on Facebook point out that people’s personal data is available to him, M. Skarzuskas is looking for an additional solution on how the information can be encrypted.

He also said that vague and shady institutions, unlike restaurants, recently started registering on the platform.

“I do not accept such institutions. There are probably people who want to see how the system works,” said the programmer.

The system was also developed by the company

The IT solutions company Hexito also announced that it has created a free registration system for visitors to restaurants, cafes, bars and other institutions www.covreg.lt.

According to the company, this system allows companies to ensure compliance, saving time and money, and allows them to continue operating without additional concerns about data protection and expensive equipment.

Hexito says the great advantage of the system is its simplicity. All the user needs is a single registration, after which they can easily and quickly register their visit to all places using this system.

“As soon as we learned of the possible need for such a system, we assembled a team and created a support solution for businesses and their visitors during this difficult period,” said Martynas Butkus, one of the founders of Hexito, in a press release.

“The idea came when we read an article in the media that as of October 26, institutions need to register their visitors. After reviewing the existing solutions, we saw deficiencies in them, so we created a free, easy-to-access and easy-to-use application, where once you enter your data, all you have to do is scan the QR code, “he said. .

Working time restrictions and mandatory registration for restaurants and bars in Lithuania have recently led to a significant increase in the number of coronavirus cases.
