General Xavier Pascual de Zenit in Saint Petersburg received recognition on the local front.
Points are earned this season
The VTB United League has officially announced that the 48-year-old Catalan has been voted the Championship’s Coach of the Year.
In the United League regular season, Zenit achieved 20 wins in 24 matches and became the winner of the first round. The team led by Pascual is also the best defending team, spending an average of 71.6 points in their basket.
Lithuanian Permian Parma awaits the Saint Petersburg team in the quarterfinals. The playoffs in Russia will begin on Tuesday.
Becoming the best of the year, Pascualis joined Rimas Kurtinaitis (recognized in 2014), Dimitri Itoudis (2015, 2017 and 2018), Vasilijus Karasiovas (2016) and Emilijus Rajkovikjas (2019).
Zenit de Pascual competed for the first time in history this season in the Euroleague playoffs, in the quarterfinals of which they landed 2-3 for “Šarūnas Jasikevičius” Barcelona.
