As both houses of Congress voted to approve the voters’ vote on Wednesday, the Capitol was surrounded by protesters urged on by President Donald Trump. Soon some of them broke into the building, including the Senate Chamber, and began to devastate the Capitol. There were clashes with police officers, killing at least four people.

In the end, Joe Biden’s victory in the election was still confirmed, and Trump himself denied the rioters, who said during the siege that he “loved” them.

“The protesters who entered the Capitol ignored the headquarters of American democracy. For those who have been involved in acts of violence and demolition: you do not represent our country. Those who have violated the law will respond,” said the president after considering the possibility of his impeachment.

Who participated in the mantle?

Q Anon Supporters

In the photos of the Capitol Assault, there is no shortage of people associated with far-right groups sharing conspiracy theories online. Many of them also participated actively in the rallies of D. Trump.

A photo of a man with a painted face, a fur hat with horns and the American flag surrounded social networks very quickly. He is Jake Angeli or Jacob Chansley, OK known the Q Anon movement, which spreads conspiracy theories sponsor. He calls himself a “Q Anon shaman,” writes the BBC.

There is no shortage of videos on social networks in which he talks about false elections, burns protective masks and denies the existence of the coronavirus. In the video below, it means support for Trump.

In the photo below, the “shaman” was captured at the Trump support rally on November 7, 2020 in Phoenix.

During the presidential debate, Trump, calling for the condemnation of violent pro-white groups, asked the Proud Boys: “Take a step back and wait.”

One of the members, Nick Ochs, shared a Capitol article with the caption, “Hello from the Capitol lol.” Inside, he hosted a live broadcast, writes the BBC.

Who left the note N. Pelosi?

One of the most common photographs is that of a man intruding into the office of Speaker of the House of Representatives Nancy Pelosi, sitting with her foot on her desk. He was identified as Richard Barnett from Arkansas.

Next to the Capitol building, he told reporters in The New York Times that he had picked up an envelope from Pelosi’s desk and left a curse note.

According to local media, Barett belongs to gun rights groups and was also spoken about by journalists in one of Stop the Steal (left. Stop Theft) demos. The movement refuses to acknowledge Joe Biden’s victory in the presidential election, the BBC reports.

There is a lack of evidence of Antifa’s involvement

There is no shortage of Trump supporters who claim that the left-wing group Antifa participated in the Capitol storm. They pretended to cause chaos by pretending to be Trump supporters.

The tattoo of one of the protesters was presented as “evidence”: it was said to be a hammer and sickle, symbols of communism.

However, according to the BBC, a close-up of the tattoo in the photo shows that it is a symbol from the Dishonored computer game series.

Angeli’s ‘shaman’ is also said to be a member of the anti-racist organization Black Lives Matter (left. “Black Lives Matter ”, BLM) Sponsor – Share photo of the BLM Rally in Arizona

Angeli took part in it, but as a counter-protester, you can see she has the Q Anon brand there.

Confederate flag

At least one person who invaded the Capitol was holding the Confederate flag – it represented the states that supported slavery during the American Civil War.

Therefore, this flag is seen as a symbol of racism, and calls for it to be banned throughout the United States. Others see it as an important part of the history of the American South.

In July it was announced that the flag could no longer be hung on US military buildings because the new policy rejects “symbols of rupture,” the BBC reports.

Earlier, Trump defended the Confederate flag: “I know people who like the Confederate flag and don’t think about slavery … I think it’s just free speech.”

One of the rioters wore a sweater with the words “Camp Auschwitz.” More than a million Jews were murdered in this concentration camp during the Holocaust.

According to reporters from The Independent, the sweater was marked “Labor libera.” It is an allusion to the inscription on the doors of Auschwitz.
