Delfi spoke with the mother of one of the students, who wanted to share the views of most of the parents.
“This article was followed by many comments in our private group that parents are outraged that they were not informed of such a complaint. For us, it was complete news and the question arose: if there is one in the class who is unhappy, which is unlikely, and if the letter was not signed, there may be teachers, jealous colleagues, maybe not even from our school.
In general, the people who follow (her Facebook account – Delphi) form such an opinion, without even knowing the teacher, her methodology. As we understand it, the teachers were also in the news, so we do not know if that complaint was received earlier or if an investigation was initiated.
According to her mother, the teacher Veronika is a young teacher who loves children and always takes into account the opinions of her parents.
“Distance learning has started, and with freshmen it is very difficult for parents, and the teacher makes a plan for next week for us every weekend. She always lines up, she always writes that if something doesn’t suit someone, she writes, I will change. I don’t know if all the teachers are so “laughing” and paying attention.
The teacher understands that most parents also work remotely and need to reconcile their work at home with their children’s studies. Still, they need a little help because the teacher will not see everything through the computer camera. (…) We really put everything together ”.
When asked if it was really because of the Maldivian teacher’s work, she said the parents strongly agreed.
“We do not care, whether in Maldives, Vilnius, Kaunas or in some village. The conclusion is that while the teacher was in Maldives, the teaching principle did not change. The lessons were carried out according to the same principle as before and after. If the teacher hadn’t made it public that she was in the Maldives, I don’t think anyone would have known. “
According to the mother, the principle of conducting lessons did not change at that time and there were no less connections or more.
“At least the comments from the parents were such that we don’t care where he works from, but it is important that the children are happy, the children are learning, the learning methodology is really modern. We get homework even through the computer, we get really interesting homework, because it is also very difficult to motivate children to learn from home. We really only have the best feedback. “
In your opinion and in the opinion of the other parents, if the complaint is not signed in your name and surname, the third parties may also be dissatisfied.
“So far there have been no such dissatisfactions. In any case, if there are, it seems that there are 11 first grades in our progymnasium. Not all of them are full, in our class, the maximum, 24 children. However, there are classes where there are less Children, it is possible to go to the school administration, write an application and go to another teacher. It is a very simple solution. “
The Delfi Ministry of Education, Science and Sport (ŠMSM) said it had not received a complaint about teacher Veronika’s work from the Maldives, but promised to comment on whether it was really ethical and permissible to do so. Eugenijus Manelis, director of Vilnius M. Mažvydas Progymnasium, commented earlier that the case was “being investigated” by the commission.
