Lithuanian soccer A member of the league, Panevėžys, finished the first round of the championship in a more positive mood.

Temporary boss Panevėžys residents, led by coach Dainius Gleveckas, played a 1: 1 (0: 1) draw with Vilnius Knights in the fifth round.

The match started with a real splash of host attacks. The crowd roared their approval when Donatas Kazlauskas somehow managed to block what appeared to be a sure goal from FC Lajo Traore in the 7th minute.

After the goal scored, the Knights breathed a bit and Panevėžys was able to restore balance even before half of the first half. A spectacular volley by Ernestas Veliulis almost resulted in a goal, but a good save by the goalkeeper kept him out, and Sebastian Vasquezui could only throw the loose ball.

E. Veliulis stood out among the guests, who also caused a lot of trouble for opponents in the second half.

The Knights were able to establish an advantage but failed to do so: Aleksandras Levšinas hit the goal, Mindaugas Grigaravičius, who appeared on the field after the substitution, hit Rafael Broetto. After the last episode, the hosts had to remove the ball from the defensive goal net.

Former Vilnius team representative Justinas Januševskis passed through a couple of opponents and passed the ball to E. Veliulis, who played a great game: he was on target with Tadas Simimaiis and allowed Panevėžys to enjoy the first point.

The Mindaugas Čepas army with 4 points is in fifth place in the tournament table and may consider the first round to be a significant disappointment.

In addition, spectators and footballers gathered at the stadium before the match paid tribute to the victims of the coronavirus and the Anapilin pandemic.
