The Palanga Municipality website notes that the events that invited guests to entertain at the seaside on June 4 have been canceled. It was still possible to find information on social networks that the entertainment of the event “Myliu Palanga” awaits visitors for 4-6 days. However, Palanga’s representative confirmed that the official message posted on its website should be followed.
“Like all municipalities, the quarantine has reduced the opportunities for Palanga to enjoy traditional festivals. Most of the festivals and event organizers postponed the events to another date: for example, on March 30, historically important date for Palanga (Palanga returned to Lithuania 100 years ago), the historical march had to be repeated and other events of the Unfortunately, the Palanga Day event took place, move to July and the next few months. The children’s theater festival “Kurhaus Dwarf”, which took place in March, moved to September, the international wind music festival “Amber Wind” moved from May to August, and the beach biker festival moved from June to August, “said Palanga representative Jurgita Vanagė.
Whether the planned events will take place at the now scheduled time will be decided as the scheduled dates approach, as the municipality is monitoring the current situation regarding quarantine and responding to the requirements announced by the Government. However, the sea, the sun and the spectacular nature are not subject to quarantine, so vacationers seeking peace will always find it here.
The municipality of Neringa also had to cancel some of the events, but the name of the Capital of Culture made it necessary to find solutions to justify it.
“Neringa is the Lithuanian Capital of Culture in 2021, so today, with the decrease in the number of coronavirus infections in Lithuania and when lighter quarantine restrictions apply, we hope that all the beautiful ideas will be implemented and Neringa will receive many guests. From June 11 to 13, the opening event of the Lithuanian Capital of Culture program is planned and expected, which was already planned in February, but was postponed to June due to quarantine restrictions, ”said Lina Pusvaškytė, representative of the municipality of Neringa.
It is true that the event will have to be more expensive: since June 1, the eco-tax has again increased to 30 euros per car. According to the representatives of the municipality, the rate remains the same as last year, although an increase in the rate has already been considered. The money collected, according to the interlocutor, travels for the comfort of the vacationers themselves and the maintenance of an impressive corner of nature.

“The resort invites you to discover new initiatives, one of them – an art zone located in Nida, on the territory of the old fishing farm, where it is planned to start various creative activities that combine culture, art, recreation and restoration. Urbo Hill invites you to take a walk in nature, starting the year with renovated trails and small architectural elements. Cycling and hiking will be much more enjoyable on the Nida dune protective ridge – a 1.7 km long bike and pedestrian path has been laid out here. It has been rebuilt so that people with disabilities can move freely and safely. At the beginning of this year, maintenance works touched the central part of Nida: the territory is being completed from Plaza Nida (near the legendary restaurant building) to the square next to the Neringa municipality building. Tourists can also visit the new Hotel SPA Nida. In Juodkrante, vacationers and residents can enjoy the path to the sea arranged last year and play sports on the small soccer field set up next to it. It is worth mentioning that up to 23 free wireless Internet connection points (13 outdoors and 10 indoors) have been installed in Neringa in the main public areas of the resort; This will provide more opportunities for both locals and city guests who combine leisure. It is also worth mentioning that the Curonian Spit National Park has implemented a project for the installation of a new outdoor information system, according to which new signs of cognitive routes have been built, information stands have been installed, dunes are opened on the peaks de Dunes, rest oases, wooden benches and observation platforms have been installed – L. Pusvaškytė shares news.
Neringa’s representative notes that Neringa, even after living in closed quarantine for a long time, is still extremely popular. From March 15 to June 1 of this year, 26,192 guests with vehicles have already visited Neringa. In the same period last year – 21,256. This clearly shows that people travel here not only for festivals and entertainment.
