The Indiana Pacers club, which is looking for a new head coach, has identified another candidate.
Adrian Wojnarowski reports that he has become former basketball player and NBA champion Chauncey Billups. It is added that the talks between Billups and the Pacers leaders should begin in the near future.
Billups had offers in the past to fill the position of one of the team leaders, but turned down the offer.
He currently works as an assistant at the Los Angeles Clippers, but with a number of suggestions. Coach Tyronne Lue invited Billups to join his staff on the new team. Still, the Pacers can offer a former basketball player a unique opportunity and the chance to become a strategist himself.
The Indiana club has received work permits to speak with several assistant NBA club coaches.
