It is proposed to include it in the composition of the Board of the Seimas through a resolution of the Seimas, the draft of which was registered on Thursday by the First Vice President of the Seimas Jurgis Razma.
When S. Skvernelis joins the Seimas Board, it will have 9 members.
March 23 The opposition factions Lithuanian Green and Peasant Union (LVŽS) and the Seimas Labor Party have signed an agreement on a coalition of opposition factions. The factions agreed that the position of leader of the opposition will belong to the “peasant” faction in the Seimas during this spring session of the Seimas.
The LVŽS will appoint former Prime Minister Saulius Skvernelis as leader of the opposition.
According to the Statute of the Seimas, if an opposition faction or its coalition has more than half the members of the minority of the Seimas, the largest of that faction or the leader of the coalition is called the leader of the opposition of the Seimas. The leader of the opposition enjoys the additional rights of the leader of the opposition provided for in the Statute of the Seimas.
